Hartley Primary School

Primary Police Programme

We had an impactful  2-day primary police programme delivered by members of the police force to pupils across the school from reception up to year 6.  Reception and year 1 pupils had interactive sessions about people that help us and the role of the police in the community.

Year 2  learnt about general awareness of personal safety, highlighting who to ask for help. Their session explored ‘Stranger Danger’, definition of a Trusted Adult and Safe places to go for help.

Year 3 had sessions demonstrating both the theory and practical side of being road safe.

Year 4 pupils learnt about general awareness of Internet safety, highlighting the details that should not be shared out online.

Year 6 session covered Internet safety rules and an insight into grooming and the law,. They learnt  about good and bad gangs and peer pressure.

If pupils raise questions about what they have learnt at home, please speak to the class teachers so that they can address it in class.
